01 · Context & challenges

A major export sector at the heart of industrial trade

In 2024, electronics exports from the Philippines reached USD 42.74bn and accounted for 58.38% of the country’s total exports [1]. Semiconductor components and devices made up USD 29.16bn of this figure [1].

Against this backdrop, a French public body wanted to identify possible avenues for collaboration between French and Philippine manufacturers, by understanding the economic dynamics, local needs and market conditions.

SURFEO was commissioned to conduct a study of the electronics sector in the Philippines, combining quantitative analysis, field interviews, a regulatory review and recommendations designed to inform institutional dialogue.
