01 · Context & challenges

HPHT testing reproduces severe conditions to qualify equipment

An HPHT bench published in 2024 simulates up to 1,000 K and 5.5 MPa to test an aero-engine heat exchanger [1].

An SME manufacturing high-pressure, high-temperature test benches wanted to strengthen its industrial positioning.

SURFEO analysed its industrial capacity, carried out a technology benchmark, built a commercial plan by segment and conducted more than 50 interviews.

Decision at stake

Determine the segments where the company’s HPHT capabilities could meet industrial needs.

Scope

Test benches · high pressure · high temperature · industrial applications.

02 · Our intervention

A qualification based on usage needs and the adoption chain

1

Assess capacity

Analyse the industrial resources and the ability to deliver HPHT benches.

2

Conduct the field survey

Conduct more than 50 qualitative interviews with tier-one industrial players.

3

Compare technologies

Benchmark test bench solutions and architectures.

4

Structure the commercial approach

Build a commercial plan by application segment.

04 · Market

Mastering test conditions is becoming a technological and commercial advantage

European milestones for going to market

2024

European standards are based on consensus-driven, repeatable rules applied in 34 countries [2].

2025

Defining specifications and test methods is central to high-temperature projects [3].

2025

European platforms list test facilities for pressure, climate, mechanics and energy [4].

Sourced timeline; European programmes related to sensors and industrialisation.

Validate in a realistic environment

European programmes expect trials on representative use cases before industrial roll-out [3].

Combine sensing and processing

Multimodal integration, data fusion and real-time analysis are among the areas supported [3].

Prepare the entire value chain

Access to skills, pilot lines, manufacturing and commercial support is a precondition for going to market [2][4].

05 · Outcomes

A structured market-entry strategy for Europe

Analysis of the manufacturer’s industrial capacity.
Technology benchmark of test bench solutions.
Construction of a commercial plan by application segment.
Positioning reinforced by more than 50 qualitative interviews.
