01 · Context & challenges

Shedding light on a market driven by the modernisation of power grids

In the European Union, annual spending on grids was expected to exceed $70bn in 2025, twice the level of a decade earlier [1].

An in-house engineering unit of a major French state-owned group, specialising in the measurement, diagnosis and prognosis of power generation facilities, wanted to clarify the opportunities related to power transformers.

SURFEO carried out a quantitative analysis, a qualitative survey and TAM/SAM sizing in order to identify market opportunities and trends.
