On May 6, 2021, the French company Dassault Aviation unveiled its new Falcon, which is positioned as the best business jet on the market. A fast business jet approaching Mach 1 and with a very long range, nearly 14,000 km or a non-stop trip from Hong Kong to New York. The Falcon 10X is the benchmark in terms of advanced technology and comfort for a business jet.
The particularity of this new Falcon 10X is its innovative safety systems, which have previously been used on fighter jets. This new business jet is distinguished by its high level of passenger comfort, with increased space in the center section, as well as its very long range.
The Falcon 10X will have the most spacious cabin on the market, with a choice of interior configurations. The cabin can be divided into four separate sections of equal length to create a personalized interior such as a conference room, a bedroom with a bed and shower, or a relaxation area. The Falcon 10X cabin is 20 cm wider and 5 cm higher than the largest business jet on the market.
In addition, for passenger comfort, the Falcon 10X will be as quiet as the 8X, which is the quietest business jet in service. Thanks to a new filtration system, it will provide 100% purified air.
If we look at the more technical aspects of the aircraft, the Falcon 10X will have an entirely new fuselage with windows 50% larger than those of the 8X, which will make the cabin much brighter. The solidity is there with a wing entirely conceived in carbon fiber allowing a reduced weight and a decrease of the drag of the plane. Its wings will then allow a greater speed during the flight but also a better manoeuvrability thanks to the hyper suspension devices.
The jet will be equipped with the most advanced and powerful engine of the business aircraft: the Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X, the most recent and most powerful version with more than 18,000 pounds of thrust.
The cockpit has also undergone a major advance. The Falcon 10X cockpit sets a new standard with touch screens throughout the cockpit, as well as a new generation digital control system based on Dassault Aviation’s military technologies. Throttles are replaced by a single intelligent control connected to both the control system and the power management system of each engine, allowing greater adaptability to different needs and flight conditions. The aircraft will even be able to fly with near-zero visibility thanks to the FalconEye combined head-up vision system, the first to merge enhanced and synthetic vision capabilities.
This aircraft is undoubtedly the best business jet currently in service on the market. As for its entry into service, it will be necessary to wait until 2025 for the aircraft to take off. No information today indicates the number of orders already placed. Dassault put an end to the suspense on Thursday, May 6, revealing the name and performance of the future flagship of the Falcon family, the first of which will leave the Mérignac plant (Gironde) in 2023. Like the Falcon 8X, the 10X is certified by the European Aviation Safety Agency
