Europe is « lagging behind » North America, where 78% of industrial companies say they have already opted for at least one new digital technology, compared with 66% in Europe. The difference is mainly in the construction sector. 40% of companies in this sector are digitized in Europe against 61% in the USA.
We can also notice that the transformation of the industry by digital is mostly done with large companies. Outside the European fabric is composed of more small or medium enterprises unlike the United States. 30% of European companies with less than ten employees have adopted digital technologies, while this share reaches 79% for companies with more than 250 employees.
