Total wants to create a university for the industry

The oil company will fund a university for the industry in the city of Stains. This university will have a capacity of 500 students a year.

The construction of this campus should start in November 2019. This university is inspired from the model of “Ecole 42”, which have been created by Xavier Niel. This project is due for autumn 2022. On a 10 500 m2 field, this campus will welcome annually 300 to 500 students.  

Targeted audience: people that are from 18 to 25 years old that are not qualified. This formation should last from 6 to 18 months and will be completely free. Five thematic are proposed: automated product lines; inspection and control; industrial digitalization; maintenance of the distribution network; and maintenance of the assisted robots. TOTAL should invest annually from 10 to 12 million Euros. 

Total wants to facilitate the integration of young persons from disadvantaged districts, and lead them toward a dynamic sector that hires. 

Abdul Malik said that “The objective is not to train young person to hire them in Total Group.”
